Is there a refrigerator for us to use? My dog is on a special diet which requires refrigeration.

You will need to make your own arrangements for refrigeration. Many campers in the past have brought a mini or dorm-sized refrigerator and set that up in their cabins. You can also purchase ice from Camp Brachman.

Please check with us as many of your needs can be met by the camp kitchen staff as long as they know ahead of time.

Where does my dog sleep?
Your dog is with you all the time except for meals (the Health Department has a problem with animals in the lunchroom). In your cabin, your dog can be in its crate, tethered to your bed, or if the dogs in your cabin get along, they can be loose. You work that out with your cabin mates.

What kinds of dogs come to camp?
We've had 12-week-old puppies to 18-year-old senior citizens — purebreds to designer breeds — dogs just starting to get their certifications to dogs who have various certifications.

What are the camp rules?

What is the typical time schedule of activities (when do we start in the morning and when do we end)? Is there any free time?
You can do as much or as little as you want at camp. Activities start after breakfast and continue until about 4:00 in the afternoon. We do have a break midday for lunch and nap time. Dinner follows shortly after the afternoon sessions and then group camp activites and bon fires in the evenings!

Is the schedule the same for everyone or do we pick and choose from the activities?
You get to make your own schedule! Pick and choose from all the wonderful activities that are offered.

What if my dog does not get along with the other dog(s) in my cabin?
If you know that your dog is particular about his or her friends, we would like to know that in advance. We try to match cabins according to dog size, but that's not a guarantee they will all like each other; that's why we recommend you bring a crate for times that you won't be there to supervise.

Should I be afraid of bringing my small and/or timid dog?

Dogs are on a leash in all areas except certain designated off-leash areas. You may want to avoid those areas. We will be offering a special small dog waterfront time this year to accommodate those little dogs that would like some playtime in the water without the worries of the big dogs splashing them!

We also have a yellow bandana program for those dogs that need a little extra space. Owners can request this bandana and have their dog wear it at camp. This alerts others to give your dog extra space and caution when approaching.

What happens if it rains?
Most activities can continue even if it's raining. Camp does have some sheltered areas that can be used during inclimate weather, but in case plans need to change, there are indoor activities for all to enjoy!
